360 PSG President Joel Colombo "Changes The Game" with Buffalo Niagara 360
by systemWhen you think of Buffalo, New York, what's the first thing that comes to mind? Snow? Chicken Wings? Probably anything but business startups and entrepreneurship, but Buffalo Niagara 360 is working to change that. With events like their "Game Changers" speaker series, the most recent of which was held January 25, 2012 at the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus' Innovation Center, the organization aims to attract and retain young area professionals.
One such professional is 360 PSG's President, Joel Colombo. A Western New York native and successful entrepreneur who chose to remain in Buffalo, Colombo was one of the "big-thinking, risk-taking, no excuses-making visionaries" that was invited to tell his story at this past Wednesday's event.
When 360 PSG was founded in 2005, "We set out to prove that there is a better way to build small business websites and Buffalo was a place that could do it," Colombo said. "Every time we launch another customer from outside WNY on our Fission platform, it shows the world that Buffalo has something that can be rolled out nationally. We look forward to the coming day when 360 PSG competes more aggressively at a national level for the products and services we currently offer to more than just regional customers."
360 PSG's company culture has also been in the spotlight recently, for its unique take on how business should function. This includes monthly creativity meetings, group outings to play laser tag, and inter-company foosball tournaments. "The culture at 360 PSG is one of the most critical and important aspects of our mission. We look at the large tech companies like Google and Facebook and try to model our environment in a scaled way. Our core purpose has always been to "Do what you love and love what you do," and that will carry us well into the future."
As for the event itself, Colombo added, "The group was very dynamic and raised some really good questions about business in general. Usually I speak about technical subjects related to websites and social media. This experience was great because I was talking about what brought 360 to where it is today; how I personally got started; and a real sense of entrepreneurship that the audience wanted to hear "my story" instead of just learning about an educational topic."
